As runners and walkers take over city streets for the Bank of America Chicago 13.1 half marathon this weekend, drivers will encounter a number of road closures, with some beginning before race day.
The race, set for Sunday, starts and ends in Garfield Park but travels through a number of Chicago neighborhoods. Some closures will begin long before the race begins.
As the day nears, here’s what you need to know to be prepared:
Timeline for Bank of America Chicago 13.1 half marathon
The race officially kicks off at 7 a.m. at Garfield Park. Runners must be capable of maintaining a 15-minute per mile pace or faster to complete the race within the required three hours and 15 minutes.
