Spencerport Fireman’s Carnival
Thursday marks day two of the Spencerport Fireman’s Carnival, a fundraiser for the volunteer fire department. The carnival runs through Saturday at the Fireman’s Field on South Union Street.
There will be live music, carnival rides, games, and food and drinks every day. Thursday’s schedule includes the Grand Parade with firefighters, EMS workers, police officers, military members, youth groups, and more. It gets underway at 7 p.m. on Lyell Avenue and finishes on Amity Street at the carnival grounds entrance. The music headliner, Flannel Underground, will begin at 8 p.m.
The carnival runs from 5 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. It runs from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday. The carnival kicked off on Wednesday with Eric’s Retro Arcade Kiddie Parade. Admission is free. As part of the carnival’s security measures, backpacks, duffel bags, and drawstring bags are not permitted.
State of the County address
Monroe County Executive Adam Bello will deliver his State of the County address on Thursday. It’s not open to the public, but the county plans to livestream it. The address is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
During last year’s State of the County, Bello spoke about new public safety initiatives, the introduction of the Centralized Arraignment Part Court, and economic development. Dancing with The Arc
The Arc of Monroe is holding its fourth annual “Dancing with The Arc” fundraiser on Thursday at ESL Ballpark. Five Rochester celebrities will be paired with people supported by The Arc to learn dance moves.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 6 p.m. The duos will perform their dance for a panel of celebrity judges. You can get tickets here. The Arc supports more than 1,400 people with intellectual or developmental disabilities each year in Monroe County.
