A pedestrian somehow avoided serious injury after he was struck by a driver in a suburban Aldi parking lot.
Firefighters at the scene had to lift the vehicle off of the man, who was hit by the driver during a frightening incident in the parking lot located in the 7900 block of Golf Road Wednesday morning.
According to Morton Grove police, officers were called to the lot just before 11 a.m. for reports of a driver that had struck multiple other cars and a pedestrian.
It is believed the driver had pulled through a parking spot and struck both a pedestrian and at least three other parked vehicles, authorities said.
Firefighters arriving on the scene had to lift the car off of the pedestrian, who was attended to by responding paramedics.
Shockingly, the pedestrian appeared to avoid serious injuries according to authorities, and was transported to an area hospital.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the crash, or of the condition of the driver involved.
Morton Grove police are investigating the crash. Anyone with information is urged to call authorities at 847-470-5200.
