Inspired by the use of beef brisket in American barbecue, but with a decidedly Chinese twist, the new menu item is made with aromatic Chinese spices and is loaded with a whopping 44 grams of protein per serving.
The brisket is slow-cooked before it’s tossed in a barbecue sauce that has notes of char siu and is made with soy sauce, spicy fermented soybean paste, mirin, and sesame oil. Not only is it the first brisket dish from Panda Express, but it’s the first time the chain has launched a barbecue dish in over a decade. The new menu item is available nationwide now through August 10, or while supplies last.
