The Iceman is leaving “Madden” fans in chills — and Bears fans with a piece of history.
The “Madden 27” cover was revealed Wednesday and it starred Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.
Noting his “gridiron heroics,” EA Sports called Williams “the future.”
The Standard Edition of the cover features Williams’ “signature mid-air throw” while a Deluxe Edition marks a nod to his nickname as the “Iceman,” including custom nail art with the EA Sports logo.
“With these covers, it makes Caleb Williams the first player in Chicago Bears history to earn the coveted Madden cover,” EA Sports said.
The two editions of “Madden NFL 27” are expected to launch on Aug. 13. A full game reveal is scheduled for June 4 on YouTube.
Williams did not immediately comment on the feature, but did share posts from EA Sports showcasing the cover.
The NFL later shared behind the scenes footage of Williams recreating his signature throw for the cover shot.
Last year’s cover featured Eagles superstar running back Saquon Barkley.
