A sweet spirited and kind soul departed this life at the age of 58 at 11:53 a.m. Monday morning June 1, 2026 to meet her Lord and Savior in eternity.
With her family at her bedside, Miss Ann Holliman, a homemaker of South Carthage, was pronounced deceased at 12 noon by Sheri Kinney with Gentiva Hospice of Livingston.
Graveside service will be conducted by Bro. Billy Smith at the Ridgewood Cemetery on Thursday afternoon June 4th at 3 p.m. Family and friends will assemble in section five where burial will follow the services. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the committal.
She was born Sharlena Ann Holliman at the former McFarland Hospital in Lebanon and was the sixth of nine children, five sons and four daughters, born to the late Alton Raay “Big Al” Holliman who died May 17, 2012 at the age of 73 and Shirley Ann Bilbrey Holliman who died on June 28, 1982 at the age of 76.
A sister, Sarah Ann Rich, died two hours following birth in 1959 and a brother, Jimmy Todd Holliman died March 7, 2012 at the age of 42 following a fatal heart attack.
Miss Holliman’s longtime companion, Lester Carlos Duke III died at the family’s Hiwassee home on October 23, 2025 at the age of 71.
Following Mr. Duke’s death, a granddaughter of Lester, Alicia Duke, relocated Miss Holliman to her South Carthage home to care for Ann in her final days.
Miss Duke attended the Trinity Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in South Carthage with the Duke family.
There are six siblings surviving, Timmy Holliman and wife Sandy of Lascassas, Steve Holliman and wife Vicky of Gainesboro, Angel Holliman Ray of Carthage, Jeanette Rich Bane and husband Danny of Carthage, Janet Rich of Carthage, Carl “Butch” Rich and wife Sherry of the Brush Creek Community; twelve nieces and nephews, twenty-three great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece.
