ROCHESTER, N.Y. – This Tuesday now makes nine days in a row with little to no rainfall. Sunshine and comfortable temperatures have been a regular feature for Western New York since the last week of May. This is due to a very slow and overall stagnant weather pattern – which is quite a change to the early portion of the spring season. As a large dome of high pressure slowly sinks south, there will be a change in the wind direction. Instead of a northerly wind, it will be more of a southwesterly wind in the coming days. This shift in the wind will bring an increase in the temperature and the humidity and by the end of the week, and that means it will be time to seek out some air conditioning.
Tonight, look for mainly clear or fair skies. It will not be a cool as last night with the low temperature near 50 degrees. Wednesday brings another day of sunshine as it will turn a little warmer with the mercury coming closer to 80 degrees. Thursday we will enjoy another sunny day with the high temperature reaching the lower 80s.
On Friday the humidity will be on the increase with the temperature rising into the lower and middle 80s. Once we reach the weekend, occasional showers and thundershowers become more of a factor. Right now, it does not appear to be a washout, but rain showers will possible interrupt weekend plans from time to time for Saturday and Sunday.
