ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester fire investigators are looking into the cause of a fire Monday evening at a vacant house on Avenue D.
The Rochester Fire Department responded to reports of a structure fire at 515 Avenue D at about 7:48 p.m. The first firefighters to arrive saw light smoke showing from a boarded-up vacant, one-family home. According to the RFD, they stretched a handline and started an interior fire attack while other crews looked for anywhere the fire had spread. F
inding the fire within the structure, firefighters brought it under control within about 20 minutes. The RFD says nobody was hurt.
