For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Ethan Lim, a finalist at the 2025 Futures Championships, has announced his commitment to swim for Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, beginning in the fall of 2026.
“I am excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Trinity University! I was blessed to have the support from God, my family, friends, Coach Sean and everyone else at Select during this journey. Thank you to Coach Cathleen and Coach George for this amazing opportunity! Go Tigers!”
A Texas native, Lim recently graduated from Frisco High School and currently swims year-round with Select Team of Aquatic Racers, where he primarily specializes in breast, fly and IM.
Lim kicked off the 2025-2026 SCY season with a series of strong performances at the LAC Fall Classic in November. There, he posted personal best times in the 100 free (49.88), 200 breast (2:05.24), 200 fly (1:56.23) and 200 IM (1:56.05). He also contested the 100 back (53.42) and 200 back (1:59.32).
A few weeks later, Lim turned in another series of lifetime best swims at the COR Classic in December. He took 2nd in the 200 breast (2:04.91 – PB), 6th in the 200 IM (1:56.51) and 21st in the 100 fly (53.29). He also placed 7th in the 100 breast in 59.25 after posting a best time of 58.83 during prelims, in addition to logging a best time of 23.16 in the 50 free.
At the 2026 Justin Sectionals in March, Lim earned a second swim in two events. He placed 24th in the 200 breast (2:04.87) after setting a new personal best time of 2:04.44 during prelims, and he placed 32nd in the 200 fly (1:56.56). He also contested the 100 breast (59.44), 100 fly (53.28) and 200 IM (1:59.13).
Lim competed at the 2025 Futures Championships (LCM) in Justin last summer, clocking lifetime bests in two events. He placed 15th in the 400 IM (4:54.75 – PB), 20th in the 200 breast (2:31.63) and 48th in the 50 fly (28.05 – PB).

Based on the results from the 2026 SAA Conference Championships, Lim would have landed in the ‘A’ final in the 200 breast and 200 fly and the ‘B’ final in the 100 breast and 200 IM, putting him in a position to be a strong contributor. On the team itself, Lim is poised to be the Tigers’ 2nd-fastest competitor in the 200 fly and 3rd-fastest in the 200 breast, although that does not account for the other incoming freshmen.
The full list of recruits set to join Lim in Trinity’s class of 2030 includes Harry Davis, Jonathan Renninger, Austin Wickboldt, Jack Lynch and Jake Sityar, who should all make for strong training partners over the next four years.
