The Alabama baseball team is one victory away from advancing to the NCAA Tournament Super Regional round, but Crimson Tide coach Rob Vaughn is asking for more from the faithful at Sewell-Thomas Stadium on Sunday.
While speaking to the media after Alabama downed SC Upstate 7-5 on Saturday night, Vaughn took exception to the 4,089 in attendance at the Tuscaloosa Regional – saying his team needs more from them Sunday against either Oklahoma State or SC Upstate (8 pm ET, ESPN+).
“I’m going to say this, people may get mad at me, but we need more,” Vaughn said. “We need more, like I look out there and it’s 7-2 and we got people gone and the stands aren’t full. Like. Tomorrow night at seven o’clock (CT), we need 7,000 people here rocking.”

Alabama (39-19) advanced to the regional final by downing SC Upstate on the strength of a three-run homer by Eric Hines and a solo shot by Justin Lebron – the latter going 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Bryce Fowler, Jason Torres and John Lemm each added two hits.
Crimson Tide starter Zane Adams (7-4) earned the victory, scattering six hits over six innings with five strikeouts. Reliever Matthew Heiberger earned his fifth save. SC Upstate’s Wyatt Land (1-2) took the loss.
