Brandon Richter has announced he will join the Towson men for the upcoming season. Richter just finished his sophomore season at Pitt.
Richter entered the transfer portal after it was announced that head coach Chase Kreitler was resigning from his position, effective immediately.

Richter finished his sophomore season at the 2026 Ohio State Invite and swam to lifetime bests in two events. He swam a 46.11 100 free as well as a 1:40.91. He arrived at Pitt in fall 2024 with a best time of a 46.66 100 free and a 1:40.97 200 free. He did not for Pitt in the spring 2025 or fall 2025 semesters.

100 free: 46.11 200 free: 1:40.91 500 free: 4:30.72Originally from Ellicott City, Maryland, Richter will transfer closer to home. The Towson men finished 2nd at the 2026 CAA Championships with 789 points, just 63 points behind UNCW who captured the team title.
Leading the way for Towson was breaststroker Jed Garner who transferred into the program last fall after spending time at Tennessee. Gardner swam to conference titles in the 100 breast (52.12) and 200 breast (1:52.45). Garner went on to swim at the 2026 NCAA Championships.
Richter adds depth to the sprint/mid-distance free group as Stephen McDonald led the team with a 1:36.04 200 free and Daniel McLaughlin led the team with a 44.11 100 free. It took a 45.51 100 free and a 1:40.45 200 free to score at the 2026 CAA Championships.
