An investigation has been launched after a body was pulled from a pond in suburban Schaumburg Wednesday morning.
According to authorities, police were called to a pond in the 1800 block of Walden Office Square early Wednesday morning for reports of a body in the water.
Responding officers and paramedics were able to locate and recover the body from the water, and the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body as that of a 52-year-old man, but is withholding his name pending the notification of family who live out of state, according to authorities.
Officials say there were no obvious signs of trauma, and an investigation into the incident continues this week.
Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses or for video, according to a police spokesperson.
