South suburban Oak Forest warned of a “planned police operation” that would bring a heavy response to parts of the Chicago suburb for several hours, with residents being asked to avoid the area.
Police said around 6:30 a.m. that an operation will take place in the 15100 block of Chaucer Drive.
“There is no threat to the community at this time.Law enforcement personnel will remain in the area for several hours,” the city wrote on social media.
No details on the police operation were given and it was unclear how long authorities would be in the area.
Residents were asked to avoid the street where the operation was taking place and seek alternate routes where needed.
