In a statement, ITV told The Sun: "We're hugely proud of Coldwater and everyone involved in making it.
"While there are no plans for a further series, we loved bringing this story to screen."
The show received mixed reviews from critics, with Radio Times' review calling it "the kind of thriller that keeps you in a chokehold from the opening moments of the first episode, and refuses to let go until the end", but adding that "every now and again" the series does "something so wild it throws you out of the realistic world that’s been created".
