A San Diego Police Officer is facing numerous federal counts for grooming and exploiting dozens of underage girls online, according to documents obtained by the Times of San Diego. Let’s plan it.”In the third case of the dozens that investigators discovered while searching McGibbon’s social media profiles, while McGibbon was soliciting photos and trying to meet up with the 17-year-old Arizona teen, he was also grooming a 16-year-old on Snapchat.After the girl expressed reservations about sending nude photos, McGibbon wrote, “It’s ok if not, but everything stays here on snap [you know]. And I would just spoil and worship you. I would send stuff like $50 Shein card.”After the teen sent nude photos, McGibbon told her that he wanted to buy a ring for make her his wife.Federal investigators say they found several other examples dating all the way back to 2023. “[McGibbon] poses a serious risk of danger to the community,” reads the court document. “He sexually exploited not one minor victim, not two minor victims, but three minor victims, at very nearly the same time over the course of one to two weeks. This behavior was not isolated, as demonstrated by the investigation; the number of victims is in the dozens and spans over several years. As a part of his exploitation, [McGibbon] paid for and directed the production of child pornography, as well as planned to meet the minors for sex.”Added investigators, “was over the course of about two weeks, the larger scale of the investigation shows the conduct expanding from January 2023 to November 2025. [McGibbon] was a police officer during this entire time. [McGibbon] knew these were children. He did not care. Underaged females were what [McGibbon] was specifically seeking. And now, he is facing serious consequences for his heinous offenses.”On May 22, federal prosecutors asked a judge to allow agents to detain McGibbon.
