Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reaffirmed the government’s support for the industrial sector that is deemed one of the main pillars of the economy and a key driver for achieving multiple economic targets, in addition to its developmental and social role.
Madbouly made these remarks during a meeting on Sunday, May 24, 2026 with President and Chief Executive Officer of Elsewedy Electric Ahmed Elsewedy to discuss the company’s business plans, expansion projects, and investments across various sectors, in the presence of several company officials.
During the meeting, Madbouly highlighted the state’s efforts to localize a number of strategic industries to meet domestic needs and target more global export markets, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products.
He stressed the government’s continued efforts to strengthen the role of private sector institutions in various economic activities, considering them a key partner in development.
For his part, Elsewedy said Egypt possesses numerous promising investment opportunities across various sectors and fields, noting that significant opportunities currently exist in the industrial and tourism sectors amid ongoing regional developments and their repercussions.
He stressed the importance of maximizing these investment opportunities to achieve further economic and developmental goals.
He shed light on ongoing cooperation and coordination with the General Authority for the Golden Triangle Economic Zone (GTEZ), noting efforts currently underway to attract more industrial investors to the promising area.
