ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The rest of our Sunday won’t be perfect but it’s certainly better than yesterday. Cloudy skies remain with highs later this afternoon in the upper 60s, then some showers return after sunset. These will last most the night but no widespread flooding is expected with totals around half an inch. Lows will be in the low 50s.
Memorial Day will have the best weather of the long weekend. There will still be some residual showers east of Rochester early in the morning but those will clear out by around 9am. As the day goes on clouds will clear out and temperatures will reach the low 70s, perfect for all things outdoors.
An omega block pattern then sets up which will cause prolonged beautiful weather across our region, likely through early next week. Expect lots of sunshine. Temperatures will be warm on Tuesday, up to 80 degrees, then we cool down by Thursday as a moisture-starved cold front passes through. It won’t be too cool however, with highs in the upper 60s Thursday through Sunday. Early next week we return to the 70s.
