Day 1 of the Pro Swim Series in Sacramento saw a number of fast swims. Here are some of the swims you might’ve missed on the first day of competition.

One of the biggest swims came from the women’s 1500 freestyle prelims. University of Louisville 20-year-old Thilda Haell swam the top qualifying time of 16:27.71 to come in more than 15 seconds ahead of the rest of the field and break her own Swedish National Record in the event.

Coming into the meet, her lifetime best was 16:39.71, which she swam in June of 2025 at the Swedish Swimming Championships. She took 13 seconds off that time.

This is Hall’s first meet since the 2026 NCAA Championships, where she finished 7th in the 1650 freestyle and 10th in the 500 free. She will get another crack at her record time in tonight’s event final where a $3,000 prize is on the line for the event winner.

In the women’s 200 IM, University of Georgia 20-year-old Marie Landreneau swam 2:15.13 in the event final to finish 6th overall. This swim was a second drop from the 2:16.34 she swam in the event prelims to qualify for the ‘A’ final. Coming into the meet, her lifetime best stood at 2:19.97 from the 2024 NCSA Spring Championships, marking a near five second drop.

Another female 200 IMer was DART swimming 14-year-old Lauren Lonsdale. She swam two events on Wednesday, finishing 3rd in the 200 IM final with a lifetime best 2:14.27, a drop from her best of 2:15.79, and 8th in the 200 free semifinal with another lifetime best 2:02.43, a half-second drop from her previous best of 2:02.73.

In the men’s 200 IM, DART swimming 16-year-old Dylan Tambuwun had a massive prelims swim of 2:10.39 to earn a spot in the ‘C’ final. In the final, he finished 24th overall, touching in 2:18.97, about eight seconds off his prelims swim.

His prelims time was a huge drop, taking more than two seconds off the 2:13.00 mark he set at the Far Western Championships in August.

In the women’s 50 breaststroke, Upper Dublin Aquatics Club 18-year-old Sophia Sileo-Magliari finished 8th overall in 32.05. This swim took more than half-a-second off her previous best 32.66 from the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Madison last July. Sileo-Magliari is committed to Drexel for the fall.

The men’s 50 breaststroke saw Gabe Cusanelli, a 20-year-old from Gateway Swim Club, qualify 14th for the final in 28.73. This swim was more than six tenths dropped from the 29.36 mark he set at the Speedo Sectionals in Columbia last July. In the final, he finished 15th in 29.10.

Grant Bellin, a 15-year-old from King Aquatic Club in Washington, finished 11th in the men’s 100 backstroke, touching in 56.51 in the event final. This swim took a second-and-a-half off his previous best time of 58.07 from the Speedo Summer Junior Championships in August. This will make Bellin the 2nd fastest 15-16 American boy in the event this season.

Mina Kaljevic, who swims for the University of Minnesota and competes internationally for Serbia, finished 17th in the 200 freestyle, stopping the clock in 2:06.15. She dropped more than two seconds from the 2:08.89 she swam in May of 2023.
