An overnight house fire in Chicago’s West Englewood neighborhood led to “numerous” rescues, with police taping off the home early Wednesday as officials conduct an investigation.

Photos and video from the house fire, at 6204 S. Paulina St., showed the aftermath of the blaze, with multiple crews on site. The house appeared to be badly burned, with blackened and charred pieces of wood throughout and windows broken. Children’s toys and games could be seen in the yard of the home.

Six people were transported to nearby hospitals, CFD said, all of whom were in critical condition. Details on their ages were not provided.
