2026 Richmond Super Sectionals
May 14-17, 2026 Richmond, VA LCM (50 meters) Psych Sheets Day 1 Recap Day 2 RecapEmerson Callis swam to another two wins at Richmond Sectionals, winning the 200 fly and 400 free on Saturday night. She swam to a 2:12.80 in the 200 fly, the 2nd fastest swim of her career as her lifetime best if a 2:12.61 from March 2024. Later in the session, she posted a lifetime best 4:19.07 in the 400 free to drop from her previous best of a 4:21.62. Callis will head to NC State this fall and is the #6 ranked recruit in the class.
Fellow top 20 ranked recruit Virginia Hinds swam to a 1:02.48 in the 100 back. Hinds is the #13 ranked recruit and is a Georgia commit for this fall. She dropped 0.66 off of her lifetime best of a 1:03.14.
The final win of the evening on the girls side came from 16 year old Samantha Roemer who touched in a 26.21 in the 50 free. That dropped from her previous best 26.55 from Futures last July. She swam a 26.95 at this meet a year ago.
A pair of college men highlighted the boys side of the night as Andy Roose swam to a 55.89 in the 100 back dropping from his previous best of a 56.11 from July 2025, a time that he swam before arriving at Virginia Tech this past fall. Roose swam at 2026 NCAAs and was 41st in the 100 back with a 46.07. He also was 21st in the 200 back in a 1:39.83.
Fellow ACC swimmer Josh Howat swam to a win as Howat touched in a 22.96 in the 50 free. Howat was faster in prelims with a 22.90. Howat just finished his freshman season at Virginia and has a lifetime best 22.76 from 2023.
Virginia commit Daniel Branon won the 200 fly in a 2:01.82, a second off his best of a 2:00.82 that he swam in May 2025 at the Pro Series stop in Fort Lauderdale.
Will Hartig blasted a lifetime best 4:01.85 en route to the win as he entered the day with a lifetime best 4:04.36 from Summer Juniors time trials last August. Hartig is has not publicly announced his college commitment yet but is a member of the class of 2027.
