ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Seneca Avenue, from Route 104 to Norton Street, will temporarily become a southbound one-way street, starting on Monday. The project is expected to run through December 2026.
Within the work zone, there will be parking restrictions on Seneca Avenue; therefore, drivers are asked to take alternative routes.
The project involves pavement reconstruction, curb and sidewalk replacement, new driveway aprons, curb ramp upgrades, street lighting improvements, new pavement markings, and updated road signage.
Utility improvements also include the adjustment and repair of manholes, catch basins, and water valve castings, and the spot replacement of water mains, water services, and hydrants.
Bike facilities, traffic signal upgrades, and other transit features will also be updated and added as part of the project.
This is the first phase of the larger Seneca Avenue Reconstruction Project.
More information on the project can be found on the City of Rochester website, and for other projects in the local area, click here.
