Elle Noecker will join the Vanderbilt women for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Noecker just finished her sophomore season at fellow SEC school Georgia.

“Sometimes the story doesn’t go as you expected but you open a new chapter and everything makes sense. After two years at the University of Georgia, I made the personal decision to continue my swimming career elsewhere, and am so honored to say I am verbally committed to swim and study at Vanderbilt University! If you know me, you know I absolutely love UGA and am a dawg fan for life, but after deep consideration I concluded that transferring was the best decision for myself. I could not be more excited to be a part of such a phenomenal university. Anchor down!”

Noecker arrived at Georgia in fall 2024. She concluded her freshman season at the Bulldog NCAA Qualifying Meet, swimming season bests in the 100 breast (1:02.06) and 200 breast (2:15.22).

She returned for her sophomore season this past school year and changed her event lineup a bit, focusing on backstroke more. She swam season bests in the 100 back (55.98) and 200 back (1:59.71) at midseason as well as a season best 2:02.50 200 IM. She competed at the 2026 SEC Championships and was 45th in the 100 breast (1:04.69), 49th in the 200 back (2:02.02), and 50th in the 200 IM (2:04.30). She has lifetime bests of a 1:01.89 100 breast, 2:14.36 200 breast, 54.88 100 back, 1:59.10 200 back, and a 2:00.94 200 IM from high school.

Noecker has detailed on her Instagram her journey with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a connective tissue disorder causing irregular hypermobility of the joints, commonly affecting the function of organs such as the bladder. She has written on her blog that at age 12, orthopedic doctors recommend she stop swimming to due her shoulder health.

The Vanderbilt women finished 13th out of 13 teams at the 2026 SEC Championships with 146 points. All of the team’s points came from relays. Melissa Cowen led the team and was 26th in the 200 breast (2:12.92) and 31st in the 100 breast (1:01.92). Cowen will be a senior this upcoming season so the two will have a chance to train together.
