Auburn Baseball will honor the late Rod Bramblett by naming the home radio booth at Plainsman Park after him.
The program announced that news on Thursday. Bramblett, who passed away after a car accident in 2019, was the voice of the Auburn Tigers from 2003 until his death. Bramblett began broadcasting Auburn baseball games in 1993.
“I can’t think of a better way to honor the legacy of Rod Bramblett,” current Auburn Tigers voice Andy Burcham said in a press release. “The first sport he called for his alma mater was baseball, and the new Plainsman Park was built during his tenure as the baseball voice. He loved Auburn baseball and calling games from the booth that bears his name, and this is a tremendous way for us to honor his legacy.”

“Saturday is a big deal, and hopefully the whole Auburn Family knows that,” coach Butch Thompson said in a statement. “Both of these guys, Andy and Rod, were the voice of Auburn, Auburn football, but buddy they loved baseball, and they started over here first. I do know that from those four years. That this baseball stuff and calling those baseball games was where they got started. That first love was always baseball, and I would just say may we honor that properly to the best of our ability this weekend with that ceremony.”
First pitch against the Bulldogs is set for 3 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
