CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — A man who attacked another person with an axe inside a Canandaigua motel last year learned his fate on Thursday.

Justin Rogers will serve 15 years in prison, followed by five years of parole. He pleaded guilty to assault for hitting a man in the head with an axe at the D-and-D Motel in December.
What happened?
On Dec. 5, Ontario County sheriff’s deputies responded to the D&D Motel in Canandaigua and found a victim unresponsive with traumatic injuries. He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital.
According to court paperwork, the victim had a large wound to his scalp and skull that required emergency surgery.
