ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The New York State Department of Public Service has approved a temporary rate increase for RG&E and NYSEG customers while they work on a bigger plan for rates in the future.
The temporary rate increase goes into effect on June 1. For residential customers, increases are expected to result in total bill impacts of the following:
0.2% for NYSEG electric 1.7% for NYSEG gas 2.9% for RG&E electric 1.2% for RG&E gas.The utilities were looking for much higher increases and still may get some, but this is what they’re getting while the state and utilities continue to work our a plan.
