HILTON, N.Y. (WHEC) – A matchup between two of the top teams in Section V lived up to the hype with Victor boy’s lax scoring the game-winner with less than five seconds left.
The Blue Devils and Cadets traded goals throughout, with Hilton’s Anthony Mitrano scoring with just over six minutes left to give the home team an 8-7 lead.
After some scoreless minutes, Collin Wheeler tied the game with under a minute to go. Victor would control the next face-off and Eli Ricci ended it, giving the Cadets virtually no chance for a last second tie. Victor would win the final face-off and throw the ball the distance in celebration.
The Blue Devils are now 13-2 on the season and have not lost in May.
Meanwhile, Hilton suffered its first home loss of the season and is also 13-2. The loss broke up an 11-game winning streak.
