PENFIELD, N.Y. — Penfield firefighters used a rope to rescue a woman and her dog after they got trapped in mud at Ellison Park on Tuesday.

The Penfield Fire Department said the woman’s leg got stuck at the edge of the creek, on the south side of Blossom Road, while trying to rescue her dog. Crews lowered a rope to help her, and she climbed a ladder to get out.

Firefighters say the woman wasn’t injured and was reunited with her dog.
