In a new interview with Page Six, one of Guthrie's long-time friends said that she's worried that people will move the Guthrie case to the back burner.
"People are starting to move on basically. That’s what happens when it doesn’t affect their lives," she continued. "So that’s why I’m trying to keep it in the forefront as much as possible."
Serpa expressed the importance of keeping the case in mind in case they "see something or they hear somebody say something."
Serpa's comments come just days after Mother's Day.
On May 12, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos sent a message to the Guthrie family during an interview with KGUN-TV.
