Hackers targeted five water treatment plants in Poland inattacks that could have allowed them to seize control of industrial systems andpotentially compromise water safety, TechCrunch reported on Saturday, citingPoland’s Internal Security Agency.

The report noted that authorities did not directly confirmRussian involvement in the water plant incidents, but Poland has recently facedrepeated cyberattacks attributed to Moscow-linked groups, including attempts todisrupt the country’s energy grid.
