The Giants are still in contact with free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and remain open to a possible reunion with the former Giant.
Head coach John Harbaugh told reporters during Day 2 of Giants rookie minicamp that he talks to Beckham “a lot” to get a sense of where the veteran is at.

“He’s in Arizona right now training and spending time with his son so the goal for right now is for him to train and get as ready as he can be and then we’ll see where we’re at at that time,” Harbaugh said.
While Harbaugh isn’t ruling out Beckham coming back to New York this season, he said he’s had some honest conversations with the wide receiver and that nothing will happen unless it makes sense.
“It’s gotta be right for both parties,” Harbaugh said.
Beckham last played in 2024 with the Miami Dolphins, but before that he spent a season under Harbaugh in Baltimore with the Ravens where the head coach saw first-hand the wide receiver’s talent.

Nevertheless, Beckham’s production in the league has never been the same since he left the Giants where he spent his first five seasons and totaled 5,476 receiving yards and 44 touchdowns.
After leaving New York in 2019, Beckham has only one 1,000-yard season to his name and has struggled to stay healthy and on the field while bopping around a few teams.
Still, there’s no denying his talent and his possible tutelage of the Giants’ young but talented wide receiver room, including Malik Nabers who went to LSU just like Beckham. However, if Beckham makes a team, he wants to provide more than just guidance.
“Odell wants to be the kind of player that can make a difference,” Harbaugh said. “I’m pretty sure that he can make a team in the National Football League right now, but can he make a difference and is it something he wants to do? Is his body gonna hold up in the way he wants it to? All those are questions that need to get answered for anybody at that age.

“Now, you know Odell, he’s confident, man. He’s confident, he’s working hard and he believes in himself. I think we’ll just play it out over the next month and into training camp and see where we’re at.”
After Nabers who is WR1, the Giants’ wide receiver room includes Darius Slayton, free agent signings Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III, Isaiah Hodgins, Jalin Hyatt and rookie Malachi Fields who New York selected in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Harbaugh spoke about what he’s liked out of Fields so far during minicamp.
“Malachi [made] a bunch of plays,” Harbaugh said. “Did you see him on those slants today? He made every catch yesterday, made one high catch over top of a corner one time.”
