A witness to the incident told 97.9 The Hill they saw the collision and aftermath of the scene shortly before 4:45 p.m., with a person riding an e-bike down the sidewalk being struck by a car. A spokesperson for the Town of Carrboro later confirmed the collision was unlawful on the driver’s part, with the biker suffered a minor injury and was not transported to the hospital for treatment.
Chapelboro is working to confirm whether charges will be filed over the collision — but as of Friday evening, no incident or traffic accident data was shared on Carrboro Police Department’s Police 2 Citizen portal.
According to traffic map data, North Greensboro Street saw congestion right after the collision before returning to normal traffic patterns around 5 p.m.
