2026 Mare Nostrum Tour – Monaco
May 23-24, 2026 Prince Albert II Nautical Center LCM (50 meters) Mare Nostrum Tour Central Preliminary Entry List – MonacoThe 2026 edition of the Mare Nostrum Tour is on the horizon, with the first stop in Monaco set to run from May 23-24. The meet will feature a loaded lineup of athletes including Olympians and world record holders as the Tour released the preliminary list of athletes committed to race in Monaco.
2026 Mare Nostrum Tour Dates
May 23-24, 2026 – International Swimming Meeting of Monte-Carlo, Monaco May 27-28, 2026 – Meeting Arena, Canet-en-Roussillon, France May 30-31, 2026 – Gran Premi Internacional Ciutat de Barcelona, Barcelona, SpainMare Nostrum regular Siobhan Haughey will be on deck in Monaco and is preliminarily entered in her bread-and-butter events, the 100 and 200 freestyle. Last season, Haughey competed at all three stops of the Mare Nostrum Tour, looking to use the Tour as an early season test for the 2025 World Championships. However, the Tour would be her last international competition of the 2025 long-course season as she withdrew from the Singapore championships with an injury.
Haughey returned to long-course competition in 2026 at the Dubai Open Championships and has had a busy start to the year, also racing at the China Open, the Malmsten Open, and the Bergen Swim Festival.
The preliminary entry lists also forecast several excellent head-to-head races. Sprint specialists Noe Ponti and Maxime Grousset are no strangers to racing each other and the Olympic medalists are set to face off again in the sprint freestyle and butterfly events in Monaco. The entry list shows the two will face challenges from the likes of Nandor Nemeth and Nyls Korstanje in the freestyle events and Ilya Kharun, now representing the USA, in the butterfly events. Jack Alexy, the American record holder in the 100m freestyle, does not appear on the first edition of the entry list but will appear at all three stops according to the Mare Nostrum website and will also be a major contender in the sprints.
The men’s and women’s breaststroke races in Monaco will be ones to watch as well, with Anna Elendt and Benedetta Pilato set to race, along with Alina Zmushka and Tes Schouten. On the men’s side, Schouten’s teammates Caspar Corbeau and Arno Kamminga form a powerful duo in the breaststroke races. Corbeau is coming off a world-record breaking short-course meters season and is set to make his Mare Nostrum debut. The Dutch pair will have their hands full with Ilya Shymanovich, and Kirill Prigoda. Shymanovich swept the breaststroke events at the Monaco stop last year.
Belgium’s Roos Vanotterdijk is entered in Monaco as well and aims to build off a breakout 2025 season while Argentina’s Agostina Hein looks to continue her ongoing breakout campaign.
Below is the full list of preliminary entries. The original document includes events for swimmers. Since that document’s publication, more swimmers have been “confirmed” on the Mare Nostrum Tour website. These athletes, including Alexy, Louise Hansson, and Ksawery Masiuk, do not have events included on their entries for the Tour. Athletes and their event lists are not yet finalized.
