ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Monroe County Clerk Jamie Romeo is inviting local businesses to partner with them to support veterans by joining the new Return the F.A.V.O.R. (Find & Assist Veterans of Record) Veteran Card Program.
Romeo says the card program, which will officially start in June, provides honorably discharged veterans with a discount card issued by County Clerk Offices across the state, updating the previous veteran discount card program.
There is no cost for businesses to join, Romeo says. Businesses can choose the discount they wish to offer and display a Return the F.A.V.O.R. Veteran Card Program decal to show support.

How veterans can get a card
Veterans can get a card by filing an original or certified copy of their Discharge Papers (Form DD214) with the Office of the County Clerk. The clerk will then take a photo of you, and the card will be issued to you on the spot.
The card can then be presented to participating businesses whenever you buy something. To see the businesses already a part of the program, click here.
Starting in June, veterans can stop in the county clerk’s office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you have already filed a copy of your DD214 form, you will need to show your photo ID to the county clerk. You can check if your DD214 is filed with the office by emailing MCClerk@monroecounty.gov.
