Kelly Clarkson will return to The Voice once more.

Clarkson, 44, appeared as a mentor on the hit singing competition from seasons 14 to 21. She briefly returned for season 23 before leaving the show upon her family’s move from California to New York. Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, died in 2025 after a private battle with cancer. He was 48. The former music manager is survived by his four children: River Rose, 11, and Remington, 9, whom he shared with Clarkson, as well as Savannah, 23, and Seth, 18, whom he shared with ex Melissa Ashworth.
Clarkson took a hiatus from The Voice and The Kelly Clarkson Show immediately after Blackstock’s death.
“I know everybody thinks, ‘Oh, she’s quitting,’ but I still have other jobs. I’m still doing stuff,” she said on Today about leaving her self-titled chat show. “There’s just too much on the plate. I was like, ‘You know what, It’s time to kinda pull back.’ It’s amazing, that’s what was really hard [because] the crew’s been incredible. … That was a really hard thing for me, but an easy decision as a momma.”

Clarkson announced her talk show exit earlier that month, teasing that she still planned to appear on The Voice “from time to time.”
“You never know where I might show up next,” she said in a statement shared with Us Weekly. “But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years.”
She concluded, “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives.”
