Monroe Freeling has made it official with the Carolina Panthers, signing his rookie contract with the team on Thursday. It’s a four-year contract worth $20.9 million, Pro Football Talk reports.
The former Georgia offensive lineman wrapped up a solid three-year career with the Bulldogs in 2025. The former five-star recruit was ranked the No. 33 player in the country when he signed with UGA in 2023.
After playing in eight games as a true freshman, he appeared in every game in 2024, starting four. As a junior, he started all but one game of the Dawgs’ 14 games. His career culminated in his earning second-team All-SEC honors as a junior before being selected 19th overall by the Panthers. At Carolina, he’ll join a front five tasked with protecting Bryce Young as the Panthers look to build on their NFC South championship.
Freeling becomes the fifth first-rounder to sign a rookie contract. Offensive guard Olaivavega Ioane, the 14th overall pick, inked a deal with the Baltimore Ravens on April 30. Wide receiver Caleb Downs, the No. 11 pick, signed with the Dallas Cowboys on May 1, as did fellow wideout and No. 20 pick Makai Lemon. On May 7, edge rusher Rueben Bain Jr., the No. 15 selection, signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
