LSU basketball’s 2026-27 roster is slowly but surely coming together.
On Thursday, LSU added Michigan State transfer guard Divine Ugochukwu to the fold to complement Mo Dioubate and Márcio Santos, the first guard on Wade’s first roster back in Baton Rouge.
Ugochukwu originally started his career at Miami and transferred to Michigan State after his lone season, meaning he’ll have 2 seasons of eligibility remaining. He played point guard at Miami but fulfilled more of a shooting guard role last season with Michigan State thanks to the presence of Jeremy Fears.
As you can see below, Ugochukwu averaged 5.1 points per game last season, as well as 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He suffered an injury at the start of February that kept him sidelined the remainder of the season.

For one, he’s wildly efficient as a scorer — he hit 50.6% of his shots from the floor last season and 44% of his 43 3-point attempts on the year. Despite standing at 6-foot-3 he’s also hit 61% of his shots within the 3-point arc, finishing 50-82 on the year per KenPom.
Will Wade still has some work to do. Earlier this week, Wade told CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein that the Tigers plan to attack the international arena hard on the recruiting trail, also insisting that the Tigers have a few players on board that have not publicly committed.
