Multiple popular pantry snacks and frozen meals are part of a nationwide recall due to potential salmonella contamination, with the latest products impacted including well-known nut and trail mix brands sold at grocery stores nationwide like Target.
The products, the Food and Drug Administration says, all contain the same ingredient — dry milk powder, supplied by California Dairies — that was recently voluntarily recalled due to possible contamination. Even more products could be added to the recall, the FDA warned, as many brands use seasoning that contain the potentially tainted powder.
The latest products added to the list were a number of snack mixes from Fisher, Southern Style Nuts, Squirrel Brand and Good & Gather, the FDA said in a release.
The Fisher, Squirrel Brand and Southern Style Nuts were sold in retail stores, online and through QVC, the FDA said. The Good & Gather trail mix was sold in Target stores nationwide.
