ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After a steady soaking rain last night, drier air is slowly working back into Western New York today. However, even though there will be significant periods of dry weather in the coming days, the News10NBC First Alert meteorologists cannot rule out a few spotty showers from time to time. Typically, this time of the year, the high temperature is in the middle to the upper 60s. Unfortunately, the weather pattern over the coming week is not favorable for seasonably warmer temperatures. It is likely that temperatures will remain in the 50s through most of the weekend.
Tonight, look for breaks in the cloud cover with some patchy fog developing in the valleys south of Rochester. The low temperature will be in the upper 30s. Thursday will feature partly sunny skies for the morning with clouds increasing for the afternoon. There will be the chance of a spotty shower with the mercury only reaching the mid-50s. The first day of the Lilac Festival could bring a brief shower with the temperature in the upper 50s.
Showers will be likely for Saturday with the temperature in the upper 50s. And keep the umbrella handy for Mother’s Day with more showers expected for Sunday afternoon. The temperature may finally push to 60 degrees.
