ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Threat Tracker is Green with some wonderful weather to start the new week. Morning clouds and any sprinkle will quickly clear for some sunshine and much milder weather into the afternoon. Temps today will rise to nearly 70 degrees. Winds will be a bit gusty around 30mph this afternoon.
Looking ahead to Tuesday it will remain breezy and mild but the threat for showers and a few thunderstorms will also be back in the forecast. Most of the showers will be in the afternoon and evening. While the day will not be a washout if outdoors keep an eye to the sky for any thunder that may bring some local downpours. On Wednesday a soaking rain will be with us in the morning and early afternoon. The rain will taper to showers later in the day with temperatures falling from the 50s into the 40s. Rain totals Tuesday and Wednesday may surpass an inch for much of the region but at this time no widespread flooding is expected.
Some drier weather is expected for later in the week, but temps will remain on the cool side in the 50s. Fair weather for the start of the Lilac Fest on Friday. Mother’s Day Weekend will bring sun and clouds and cool weather with a stray shower or two but overall, not bad. Next week will see temps staying a bit below normal.
