ROCHESTER, N.Y. – As a dome of high-pressure moves off the east coast and a storm rotates into Hudsons Bay, Canada, a more persistent southwesterly wind will arrive for the start of the week. This southwest breeze will bring noticeably warmer temperatures for Monday and Tuesday. In fact, this will be the warmest weather in five days for Rochester. Unfortunately, this return to spring will not last very long as another front and shift in the weather pattern is scheduled to return for the remainder of the week.
Tonight, look for a spotty shower with a low temperature in the middle 40s. On Monday, any lingering shower ends very early, then skies become mostly sunny. It will be breezy at times, but the temperature will jump into the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.
Tuesday will still be rather mild, but showers will become more numerous for the afternoon. The high temperature will be in the upper 60s. Then the rain will be steady with possibly some thunder Tuesday night. This will be a soaking rain with the potential for an inch or more rainfall by Wednesday morning. Wednesday will not be much of an improvement as showers continue and and it will be much cooler with the mercury staying in the low to mid-50s.
