A person was critically injured after gunfire rang out in the Logan Square neighborhood Saturday morning.
According to Chicago police, five individuals became involved in a verbal altercation with another group in the 2700 block of North Lawndale at approximately 7:30 a.m.
The individuals then tried to leave the scene in a vehicle, and at least one person attempted to block the vehicle from leaving.
It was then that another suspect opened fire, and the driver of the vehicle struck one of the suspects before fleeing the scene, police said.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
At least one individual is in custody and charges are pending in the case, according to Chicago police.
