SMU has announced the addition of two more transfers for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Mia Goodale will arrive from Wagner and Tawannah McLemore will arrive from Florida International (FIU).
Goodale just finished her sophomore season at Wagner and swam to NEC Conference titles in the 200 free (1:49.64) and 500 free (4:55.57). She also was 3rd in the 100 free with a 50.54. She is originally from Waterlooville, England. Her 500 free time would have been 3rd on SMU’s roster this past season.
McLemore just finished her sophomore season at FIU and is originally from Pompano Beach, Florida. She swam to a lifetime best 22.77 50 free for 6th at the 2026 American Conference Championships. She also was 14th in the 100 fly (55.25) and 22nd in the 100 breast (1:03.88). Her 50 free time would have been 2nd on the team this past season only behind Maddy Parker (21.98).
The two are the lastest transfers to the SMU women’s program as the team already announced three transfer arrivals from Washington State for the fall, including 2025 NCAA qualifier Dori Hathazi. The team had room to add transfers to the roster as they only had 17 women on their roster this past season, with seven of those being freshman. The program is still rebuilding after many transfers, cuts, and graduations during summer 2024.
SMU just finished its 2nd season in the ACC and the women finished 14th out of 15 teams at ACCs with 261 points, only 13 points behind 13th place Georgia Tech. Parker led the way on the swimming side with 27 individual points. The team’s 200 and 400 free relays finished 9th.
