2026 NCAA qualifier Mia Henninger has announced she will transfer to Michigan for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. Henninger just finished her sophomore season at Missouri.
The Colorado native finished her sophomore season at the 2026 NCAA Championships where she was 18th in the platform diving event with a score of 252.25 points. This was her 2nd NCAA Championships as she finished 28th in the platform event at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
The Michigan women captured the 2026 Big Ten title and went on to finish 6th at the 2026 NCAA Championships. Senior Kiarra Milligan was the only diver for the Michigan women at 2026 NCAAs as she scored 11 individual points with an 11th place finish in the 1 meter event and a 12th place finish in the 3 meter event. Milligan did not compete in the platform event.
Michigan will enter its second season under head diving coach Brandon Loschiavo. Loschiavo won the NCAA title in the platform event as a senior at Purdue during his collegiate career and also was a three time Big Ten Champion in the platform event. Loschiavo also represented the US at the 2020 and 2024 Paris Olympics in the 10 meter event. Fellow NCAA Champion Lyle Yost is an assistant coach on the Michigan staff.
Henninger is the latest transfer to Michigan, joining the names of Haley McDonald who arrives from Texas and Julia Strojnowska who arrives from Auburn. Both McDonald and Strojnowska have also competed at NCAAs.
