Margaret Nell Hale, age 83, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at NHC in Smithville. Born on November 26, 1942, in Lancaster, TN, Margaret was a lifetime member of Long Branch Community Church and retired from Smithville Shirt Factory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Harvey Hale; her parents, Clarance Otis and Reba Irene Delong Melton; and two children, Hoyte Hale and Rosea Young.
Margaret is survived by her loving family, including four grandchildren: Zackary Hale of Mississippi, Tia (Brandon) Puckett of Smithville, Devin Caldwell Hale of Murfreesboro, and Quentin (Myrie) Hale of Smithville. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren: Jackson Puckett, Roman Hale, Maverick Puckett, and Bonnie Hale. Her siblings, Imogene Adcock of Smithville, Christine Byford of Dowelltown, and Clarance (Faye) Melton of Alabama, also survive her.
Visitation with the Hale family will be on Monday from 10:00 am until the service at 2:00 pm, officiated by Bro. Steve Waller, with burial to follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. The family extends special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and NHC for their loving care.
