No idea yet of the issue or the severity, but Nico Hoerner has been pulled from today’s game for pinch-hitter Matt Shaw. Hoerner had a solid double in the first inning and later scored. He came back out for defense, but then departed for his next at bat.
It did look like something was maybe bothering Hoerner as he ran the bases – he was kind of making an unusual face. But he didn’t immediately leave, so I hoped it was nothing. Unfortunately, here we are.
