A wild video shows a passenger screaming at crew and passengers onboard a Delta plane before attempting to open the cabin door.
According to the airline, the disturbance occurred on a plane that was on the taxiway in Atlanta on Monday. The flight was delayed before a scheduled departure to Chicago’s O’Hare Airport, and the passenger became unruly when another delay was announced.
Social media video showed the man yelling into a phone on the plane.
“How long has it been delayed already? Three, four hours, and now you’re talking another hour?” the passenger said.
The passenger then began to grab the handle of the cabin door and attempted to open it, and was able to do so partway, according to a statement from Delta.
The slide did not deploy, and the captain of the plane told passengers they were going back to the gate, where the passenger was removed.
No injuries were reported.
“The safety of our customers and crew comes before all else, and Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior. We apologize to our customers on this flight for the delay in their travels,” Delta said in a statement.
The flight was able to depart for Chicago later that night after an inspection of the plane.
