From walking the grounds with fans to watching Ella Langley side stage, Bailey Zimmerman gives us an exclusive look at his Stagecoach weekend. He opens up about the surreal journey from living in a trailer with his mom to selling out arenas, his emotional collaboration with Brandon Lake on “Just Believe,” a surprise Sydney Sweeney karaoke moment, and how he prepares before hitting the stage.
Bailey Zimmerman: What’s up, y’all, it’s Bailey Zimmerman. Come with me to Stagecoach. How hot is it out here? Wow! That’s how it’s done Stagecoach. I’m excited. Yeah, this is Billboard All Access. Here we go. The vibe is like, reunion of all of my friends. Like seeing everybody today, and then I’m gonna be here all weekend. So like seeing everybody, the vibe is immaculate. Don’t get me wrong. I love all the festival vibes. I play okay, but Stagecoach just kind of does it the right way. It’s like, I just love how they brand it and like it feels like you’re almost like taken away from the world when you’re at Stagecoach and it’s just like you and music. It’s kind of surreal still, honestly, I walk out into the arena in the morning, and I just still can’t believe, dude, I was living with my mom in a trailer, and then now I’m, like, selling out arenas. So yeah, it’s like, surreal. I hope the feeling never leaves too because it’s like, it just makes me, like, be so appreciative of it, you know? I really, I try not to take it for granted, and that really helps me being like, man, I can’t believe I’m doing this. It’s crazy, you know? So, yeah. I was listening to Brandon just as a fan, and then I met him after an award show, and I realized, like, man, just how authentic and raw this guy is. And that just made me really want to start trying to work with him. And then it took, like, a year to get the time to work together, but then in two hours, we wrote our song, “Just Believe,” the first time we got together. You know, after a year of trying to get together, we write it in like two hours. So and the song just means so much to me. I have it like tattooed on my arm, like I’ve been trying to write “Just Believe” for like, five years. And it was so cool, just how awesome the collaboration was, and how easy it is to work with. And he just changes your life.
