Every April 29, we are reminded of how bad a Chicago Cubs season can start. And usually we can say to ourselves, hey, it could be worse.
Consider the team and the situation back on this day in 1983, when the Cubs started 5-14 out of the gate. Then Cubs manager Lee Elia responded to that start, and what he perceived to be a lack of fan support. It was the managerial rant to end all managerial rants, and none has yet lived up to it.
