A 28-year-old motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a semi truck on I-90 in the suburbs during the busy evening rush hour commute Tuesday, with lanes closed for hours as an investigation remains underway.
The crash occurred about 6:23 p.m. on I-90 in Hoffman Estates, Illinois State Police said, near Beverly Road.
According to ISP, the motorcycle driver, later identified as Muffed B.Albo Yasen, 28, of Rockford, was pronounced dead on the scene.
All eastbound lanes at Beverly Road were closed for hours into the evening, with major traffic impacts and a heavy police and emergency response.
