CORTLAND — Anne M. Ruddy, 83, entered into eternal rest Saturday, April 25, 2026.
She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Warren, the daughter of Emilio “Chick” and Mary Sandfry DiCola.
Anne was a 1960 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a 1979 graduate of Kent State University. She worked 18 years for the Greater Warren Community Credit Union. After her retirement, Larry and Anne shared many years enjoying the Florida Keys. They were very involved with St. Peter Catholic Church on Big Pine Key, Florida, where Anne ran the food pantry.
Anne enjoyed bowling, bocce and camping and was an excellent fisherman. She and Larry took many fishing vacations, especially to the Great Lakes, Canada, the Outer Banks in North Carolina, and Florida.
Anne attended St. Robert Catholic Church in Cortland.
Precious memories of Anne live on with her two children, Michael (Julie) Ruddy of Longs, South Carolina, and Lisa Houk of Cortland; five grandchildren, Anthony (Anjenette) Walker of Conneaut, Nicole Walker, also of Conneaut, Christopher Ruddy of Kingwood, Texas, Daniel (Sheri) Gross of Champion and Jacob (Melissa) Gross of Rolesville, North Carolina; nine great-grandchildren, Zeke, Trent, Ian, Ryleigh, Jackson, Nolan, Trinity, Darcy and Jett; and other family and friends who adore her and think of her fondly.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her beloved husband of 64 years, Larry Ruddy, whom she married Oct. 22, 1960, and who passed Jan. 6, 2025; and her brother, Dominic DiCola. Calling hours will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Fr. Steve Agostino officiating. All who know and love Anne are welcome to attend and celebrate her remarkable life.
Interment will take place in Niles Union Cemetery.
